How can we support long-term food policy transitions starting from short-term projects?
This was the central question of the session organized by ACRA ETS and EStà – Economia e Sostenibilità as part of the #MUFPPGlobalForum, which brought together cities and partners of the #AfriFOODlinks project.

This panel took the project as a case study and broadened the focus, exploring how projects can be evaluated in terms of their actual impact in providing frameworks and governance tools to promote long-term policies.
The event linked local experiences with the policy frameworks of the European Union (EU) and the African Union (AU) and future investment opportunities, highlighting strategies to ensure the continuity, ownership, and resilience of African food systems.
The session started from the premise that a participatory approach is essential to effectively assess the real impact of urban food policies and that short-term projects can contribute by generating tools that cities can adopt and use.

The panel shared effective experiences from different contexts, with the aim of sharing good practices and developing innovative strategies to address the crucial issue of transforming short-term projects into long-term structural changes.
